You were sitting on the window seat and I had the aisle seat. There was another passenger between us and the 3 of us were chatting for almost the entire flight. It was super fun!
I told the both of you I was from Vietnam, and you asked if the weather there is super humid. You mentioned you were going to travel to the Phillipines the following year. You also said your current job was fine, but not what you wanted to do for the rest of your life. You also said USC isn't as good for STEM as other schools like Harvey Mudd when I mentioned I wanted to study Computer Science. I said I would have applied to USC had it been more financially generous for international students.
When I saw you tracking our flight on FlightAware as we were about to land, I asked what app/website it was and you told me. The plane was making a seemingly unnecessary U-turn, perhaps to avoid traffic. We got to see the LA sunset from the sky, which was a really unique experience for me.
In the end, I thought of asking for your contact info to stay in touch as friends but was too afraid to because we didn't talk that much. So I only asked to connect with the guy sitting between us. I feel so guilty when I left, thinking I should have asked. I didn't ask for your name either!
Later I was at an international event and met lots of people from all over the world. It made me realize how awesome making global friends is, and that I should keep in touch with as many people as I can, because those friendships can be very meaningful.
So if you're that USC'15 guy on that United Airlines flight from SF to LA, I'd love a chance to connect :)
